OLYMPIC 1936 VOLUME 1
This book is Volume 1 (Band I) from a two volume set and covers the 1936 Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, as well as some history of the Olympics in general. There are details on the first games in Athens, in St. Louis (1902), LA, and others. It also shows the Olympic preparations the Olympic stadium in Berlin, the Olympic village and presents the different event venues, as well as sections on each event figure skating, sledding, details the International Olympic Committee members, the organization, the various committees (and insignia) of each nation taking part (the Soviet Union is conspicuously absent). The torch run with Olympic flame is covered, as well. It also presents all the winter sports events, complete with lists of the winners, and includes sections on Boxing and other sports. The photos are actual original prints pasted in the clarity is superb and none are missing. The book has approximately 167 pages and even includes the original black and white dust jacket, which has some tears but is in otherwise surprisingly good condition. Great publication!
